One of way of discovering classics is to get somebody contemporary that you currently like and see what influenced them. In the mid nineties Tarantino was all the rage and I remember reading how much he admired Howard Hawks' Rio Bravo. So a few years while leafing through a film sale I ran across it and bought it. I would not have taken the plunge had it not been for the recommendation by Tarantino. Wonderful film. This is a great scene. What's subtly great is no one forced John Wayne to do anything but sit back and admire. There was no lip synch or have him pretend to play an instrument. Wayne is fine the way he is. Enjoy Dean and Ricky.
