Why The Term Motivational Is A Misnomer

My few thoughts on the myth of motivational tapes, talks etc.
Calling them motivational is a bit of a misnomer. Like they are a more classed up version of Rob Schneider's catch phrase "You Can Do It!". There was a time back yonder when I listened to hours and hours of "motivational" tapes a day. Here is how they really work: 1) a lot of what holds us back is fear of not knowing what to do. Good material teaches you something and the more you know the less you fear. 2) These people tend to be positive people and there is something to be said about the frame of mind good material puts you in.
