What True Fans

This is baseball / World Series related . Still it's a telling read if you are interested at all with supply, demand and loyalty.

Rocco Baledelli (pictured above ) hit a home run in the last game of this year's World Series (video below) . Staying true to the gritty resilient nature of his team. The shot tied the game up in a do or die situation for Rocco's rays.

But the story is not about Rocco. It''s about the Philadelphia fans. It's something I noticed watching my recording of the game. Never got much publicity. Since here in Manila we get the Major League International Broadcast not sure if the US viewers saw it either. Watch any baseball game and there is an out and out skirmish

But the story is not about Rocco. It''s about the Philadelphia fans. It's something I noticed watching my recording of the game. Never got much publicity. Watch any baseball game and there is an out and out skirmish for an insignificant foul ball. For those of you not familiar with baseball rules. Once it’s strike two, a foul ball does not even affect the count. That particular pitch never really mattered except being a drain of the pitcher’s arm.

In the meantime here is a ball that tied up the game in the clinching game of a World Series. Total significance does not even . Definitely more market value. I have no idea how much baseballs that are hit for home runs during a World Series are fetching but check out how much this ball went for. Yet somebody threw Rocco's home run ball back.

I mentioned this is my Yahoo baseball group. " Let me try to put myself in Philly fans minds though. Yes a scary place I know. (Little side note. My dad was in Wharton from 64 to 65. )Yes he was in town for the Gene Mauch collapse. Anyway you know their angst and their bitterness. The shot tied the game as if to say they may not get chance to celebrate that night or at all . We don't want a part of it. Virg, could you give them a little slack considering this is not August and they are not 9 games out? I totally understand your GABP stance.".

Of course a pessimist would say the tied score hinted a delay in the rioting.
