Neglible. Unless you were listening to a boxing show. Give you an idea. Like I have told you all many times before, I am a sports junkie. When anyone sees me in the house, in the office, walking or in the car with the Ipod, it's rarely music. It's usually a podcast. A lot of what I listen to comes from ESPN but I also listen to other sources and topics. Anyway every weekday I listen to these general sports shows from ESPN:

The Sports Daily
Mike and Mike in the Morning
Mike Tirico and Scott Van Pelt
The Thundering Herd (Colin Cowherd)

Remember the fight happened in Vegas in the STATES. These guys talk about sports. 99% of the time sports in the US. The first four shows did not even recognize any kind of fight. The fifth show (PTI) got around to it 25 1/2 minutes into a 26 minute show. And they spend about 10 seconds on it asking if it's a big deal. Boys and girls if something is a big deal,you usually don't have to ask the question. Even then it was just a set up for an Imelda joke.

PTI's Adande and Ryan cram 7 minor topics into the last minute. They are as follows:

2. NFL- Wembley sold out in 30 minutes for an American Sport .
3. Cycling- performance enhancing drugs and Floyd Landis
4. Off Season NBA- James Posey Free Agent

John Madden who is the real King of All Media admits to admiring Manny. Even though he spends about 20 seconds of a nine minute show on him directly. The rest of the time he talks about expensive wine, vacations, eating and New Orleans . Madden always watched fights in person. Listen to Madden for any length of time and you will hear about his love for sports and food. In my provided audio clip I kept in the part where they describe the disgusting process boxers go through to lose and gain 12 pounds in ONE DAY. Best if you heard it from Madden.

Just want to end this by saying fights are always in Las Vegas. Why? The NFL, Major League Baseball and the NBA do not have any teams in Las Vegas despite it's continuously growing population.Nor do they ever discuss placing a team there. Why? Answer those questions for yourself then ask why does Boxing embrace Vegas? We have already established the irrelevance of the US sports media when it comes to big fight coverage. Yet fighters like Manny can expect to see massive paydays . Think about it.
